This NCB line ran from Marley Hill through Burnopfield to Hobson Colliery in Co.Durham

There was a steep gradient leading out of the mine at Hobson which necessitated banking for a short distance

Hobson Colliery closed on 9th August, 1968 , & Marley Hill in 1983
